Do You Need a License for Deer Hunting in Nebraska?
Yes. A Nebraska deer hunting permit is required for all whitetail hunts. Permits must be purchased in advance of booking your trip, and they often sell out quickly — sometimes as early as summer.
Deer Hunting Season (Varies by Year)
- Archery: September – December
- Firearm: November
- Muzzleloader: December
How to Get Your Permit
You’ll need to secure your hunting permit before booking your hunt with us to ensure availability. Permits are available through the Nebraska Game and Parks website. We recommend checking their site for the most up-to-date details on dates and regulations.
👉 Tip: Archery and muzzleloader permits are especially limited — book early to guarantee your spot.
Trophy & Meat Care
After your harvest, our team will take care of the processing: gutting, skinning, and hanging your deer in our walk-in coolers and freezers. For hunters wanting custom cuts, we offer professional butchering services (vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen) for an additional fee.
What to Bring
- Coolers: For a typical deer hunt, plan on bringing at least two large coolers for meat.
- Head & Hide: If you’re keeping the head and hide, bring an extra cooler.
- Transport: Many hunters bring a portable freezer in their pickup for the drive home.
From Field to Table
At the end of the day, we believe the hunt is about more than a trophy — it’s about honoring the animal and enjoying its bounty. During your stay, our chefs prepare ranch-raised and harvested game as part of our Wild Harvest Dinners. Many guests say the moment they first taste their harvest, surrounded by family and new friends, is just as rewarding as the hunt itself.
