All-Inclusive Turkey Hunting at ReWild Ranch
- Hunt Packages: 3 days / 4 nights with lodging and meals included in a private room.
- Semi- or Fully-Guided: All hunts are semi-guided. For a fully guided turkey hunt, add $250 per day for a dedicated guide.
- Blinds & Decoys: Blinds are provided, and use of decoys is included. You’ll hunt from strategically placed blinds in open country.
- Weather Note: Nebraska spring weather is unpredictable — come prepared for snow, rain, or sunshine.
Turkey Hunting Regulations
- Bag Limit: Nebraska allows a two-bird maximum, with only one bird per hunter per day.
- Permits: Each hunter must purchase their own Turkey Hunt package, which includes up to two permits. Permits can be purchased from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (approximately $250 online).
- Season Timing: Hunts run from sunrise to sunset during both spring and fall seasons.
- Important: Permits sell out quickly — often within days of release. We recommend securing your permits as soon as they are available. Deposits cannot be refunded if permits sell out.
Recommended Hunting Equipment
We suggest bringing:
- Shotgun (check Nebraska state regulations) or archery gear
- Binoculars and shooting sticks
- Your favorite chair for the blind (optional)
- Snacks and bottled water for time in the field
Non-hunting guests are welcome at $150 per person, per day, which includes meals and lodging. They may join you in the field or relax at the lodge.
Hunters are also welcome to bring additional firearms for fun — you can shoot at our steel gongs right from the lodge deck!
(Not included: tips, alcoholic beverages, or Nebraska license fees. However, guests can enjoy a full bar and tasting room at our Copper Bison Bar.)
Merriam vs. Rio Grande Turkeys
ReWild Ranch is home to both Merriam’s turkeys and Rio Grande turkeys, giving hunters a chance to pursue either species — or both.
Merriam’s Turkey
- Known for their striking white-tipped tail feathers.
- Thrive in the rolling hills and open Sandhills country.
- Highly vocal in the spring, often responding well to calling.
- A favorite for hunters who love hearing gobbles echo across the prairie.
Rio Grande Turkey
- Recognized by buff or tan-tipped tail feathers.
- Often found near rivers, creeks, and open prairies.
- Travel in larger flocks than Merriam’s and cover lots of ground.
- Add a dynamic spot-and-stalk element to your hunt.
Hunting both species at ReWild Ranch offers the chance at a Nebraska turkey slam in a single trip.
