From Field to Freezer: The Health and Honor of Harvesting Your Own Meat

At ReWild Ranch, hunting isn’t just about the trophy on the wall—it’s about the meat in your freezer, the memories in your heart, and the meaning behind it all.
If you've ever questioned where your meat comes from—or wanted to do it the right way—there’s nothing more honest, more rewarding, or more nourishing than harvesting your own bison and bringing it home.
Meat With Meaning
Every bison harvested at ReWild Ranch is treated with deep respect. These animals live freely on 500 acres of rolling Nebraska prairie—grazing, roaming, and growing naturally. When the moment of harvest comes, it’s quick, clean, and done with care.
There’s no industrial slaughter line, no mystery origins. Just you, your guide, and a powerful moment of connection.
And the result? Over 300 pounds of premium, lean, heart-healthy meat—cut, wrapped, and frozen for your family to enjoy all year long.
Why Bison Meat?
For many of our guests—especially those in their 60s and 70s—health is top of mind. Doctors may have told you to cut back on red meat. But here’s the good news: bison is different.
- Lower in fat and cholesterol than beef
- High in protein, iron, and B vitamins
- Naturally grass-fed and hormone-free
- Incredibly flavorful—rich but not greasy
Whether you're grilling steaks, slow-cooking roasts, or making chili for the grandkids, bison is a healthy indulgence you can feel good about.
A Field-to-Table Experience
We don’t just help you harvest—we help you enjoy every bite.
Your guide will walk you through the entire process, from the field to the freezer:
- Ethical, high-success harvest with expert support
- Immediate field dressing and cooling
- Butchering and packaging to your preferences (roasts, steaks, ground, etc.)
- Optional vacuum-sealing and freezing for easy transport home
- A celebratory bison dinner at the lodge, featuring meat from your harvest
You’ll leave not only with a trophy photo, but with a freezer full of clean, sustainable, humanely harvested meat.
Feed Your Family, Fill Your Spirit
Many of our guests tell us it’s one of the most meaningful things they’ve ever done—bringing home food they harvested themselves, knowing where it came from, and sharing it with family.
For some, it’s a return to the old ways. For others, it’s a first. Either way, it’s a powerful act of stewardship, gratitude, and self-reliance.
Ready to Fill Your Freezer the Right Way?
At ReWild Ranch, we make it easy, comfortable, and deeply rewarding to harvest your own ethical bison. Whether you're coming for health, heritage, or the experience itself, this is a field-to-table journey you’ll never forget.
